VP – Credit Risk Corporates

Exciting opportunity with an international, top-tier global markets/investment bank, which is currently looking for 2 VPs – Credit Risk, Corporates.  The roles are based in Singapore, covering South East Asia and Australia New Zealand region.  The individual will be part of the Credit Risk team, Asia ex-Japan.    Candidates who are currently working in Singapore will be considered only.

Key responsibilities

  • Hands on and pro-active credit risk management of a distinct portfolio of predominantly Asia ex-Japan (AeJ) counterparties (country or sector)
  • Involves in reviewing and analysing on the Corporates counterparties, allocating credit limits and risk appetite for the business to adhere to, including but not limited to working with Global entities via bilateral sharing of counterparty information and reviews, participating in client due diligence calls etc
  • Involve in start to finish credit risk management including analysis/recommendation/approval of internal rating, monitoring, escalation and resolution of any risk events (e.g. margin call failure, counterparty default, trigger of credit covenants etc.) and close monitoring of counterparty performance to identify any emerging credit risks
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Trading & Sales teams, seeking to find solutions, and contribute to business growth while keeping incremental risk to the firm manageable
  • Demonstrate sound credit judgment in analysis via the recommendation/approval/ decline of new transactions, reflecting deep understanding of pertinent issues and risk drivers
  • Actively contribute to the evolution of the Corporates’s Credit risk framework, while managing regulatory guidelines and ad hoc requests with close collaboration with other local risk teams
  • Close collaboration with global teams (Tokyo, Hongkong) focusing on credit risk stripe contributing to the group’s global credit risk management alignment/enhancement

Role requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a reputable University in Finance, Economics, Business etc  Proven track record in a counterparty credit risk management role for more than 10 years, preferably in a global bank/investment bank
  • Strong analytical background and experience in credit analysis of Corporates, Distressed Accounts and High Yield Transactions in AeJ and Pacific
  • Experienced in medium corporates / private credit space highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments such as Repo, IR and FX derivatives within the context of counterparty credit risk management along with familiarity of legal documents such as GMRA, ISDA, CSA etc.
  • High level of communication in English, Mandarin skills is advantageous and coordination capability
  • Self-motivated and able to independently execute complex multiple tasks with clear priorities
