Key responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with Front Office business stakeholders such as Head of Trading, Portfolio Managers and other decision makers by providing thematic recommendations (based on macroeconomic trends, central bank policy, geopolitical risks and market sentiment) and specific trade ideas that fit a range of investment mandates.
  • Assumes ownership of the risk call for the Asia Pacific region including recommendations across markets, geographies, ratings and the curve.
  • Monitor and analyze market and macro data to develop his/her own expectations of risks and outlooks
  • Close interaction and working relationship with the credit analysts in the organization to communicate strategy recommendations and ensure that credit analyst recommendations are relevant to clients.
  • Formulate comprehensive sector strategy by fully understanding the main sector narratives and key single name credit stories.
  • Ensure regular schedule of publishing strategy content and of client engagement through conference calls, in person meetings, presentations and conference participation.
  • Close collaboration with the Global Strategy Team to understand the strategy calls in the US, Europe and Emerging Markets and to ensure consistency in market/economic expectations and recommendations.

Role requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University
  • CFA Level 1 or higher advantageous
  • At least 8-10 years of prior relevant experience in Asia-focused credit research, economics, investment banking or debt capital markets with a demonstrated interest in financial markets, specifically investment research.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Good writing skills, analytical and adaptable
  •  Meticulous, intellectual curiosity, ability to work independently and team player
