Employment Counsel – International Investment Bank

Our client is a renowned international investment bank currently looking to hire an Employment Counsel as part of an established legal team based either in Hong Kong or Singapore. You will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders, including HR, management, and other legal teams, to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and protect the interests of the organization. They offer hybrid working model and an attractive compensation package.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and support on a wide range of employment-related matters.
  • Stay up to date with local and international employment laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Advise management, HR, and other departments on employment law implications and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining internal policies, procedures, and contracts in line with employment laws.
  • Prepare employment templates, agreements, and maintain staff handbook & policy.
  • Assist in investigations and resolution of employment disputes and claims.
  • Work with external counsels if necessary.

Role requirements

  • Qualified solicitor 5PQE+.
  • With at least 3 years of relevant employment legal experience.
  • Good knowledge of Singaporean employment laws and regulations, with an understanding of international employment law principles is advantageous.
  • Prior in-house/financial services experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • For Singapore hires, Singaporean/Singapore PR holder is a MUST.
