COO / Business Head – Textile Plant

Looking for a leadership candidate for a Global Textile firm to establish their operations / plant in India, possessing substantial experience in operations and business / Process excellence.

 

Job Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee all operational aspects of our client’s manufacturing unit in Odisha. Responsible for optimizing resources, ensuring timely planning, maintaining production quality, and achieving competitive costs, the COO will play a pivotal role in maximizing profitability. Additionally, the COO will contribute to organizational strategy development, provide guidance on operational matters, and implement management strategies to align with overall objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Seeking candidates with experience in Textile industry only.
  • Oversee all aspects of production, operations, and quality assurance / control processes to meet organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and review unit performance against targets, identify efficiencies, and address bottlenecks to ensure budgeted targets are achieved.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to create synergies across the organization’s project portfolio and strategic changes.
  • Manage market initiatives to maximize business performance and achieve company goals.
  • Continuously evaluate, optimize, and improve processes and quality standards.
  • Compile and manage annual manpower budgets, closely reviewing budgets to exceed business plan targets.
  • Address customer complaints and conduct failure analysis to implement corrective action plans.
  • Maintain ongoing factory evaluations to ensure compliance with technical capability and product safety practices.
  • Ensure consistency across all functions in terms of performance management, standard operating procedures, environmental health & safety standards, workforce management, quality assurance, sustainability priorities, and compliance standards.
  • Foster excellent communication and coordination with local and federal government bodies on matters relating to government affairs, tax, incentives, industrial relations, labour, and community affairs.

Role requirements

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Highly motivated and result-driven individual.
  • Master’s degree in any field.
  • Certification in Operations Management or a related field.
  • 20-23 years of relevant professional experience in operations, preferably in the garments manufacturing industry in India.
  • Willingness to travel.
