We’re helping our client in identifying skilled professionals for building out and operating their facilities in Mumbai (India), Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia), Hong Kong and Taiwan.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of the mechanical systems that support the operation of the facility. The focus will be on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as other critical infrastructure components.

Key responsibilities

  • Designing and optimizing HVAC systems to meet the cooling and ventilation requirements of data center equipment, ensuring proper airflow, temperature control, and humidity levels to maintain optimal operating conditions.
  • Managing the installation of HVAC equipment, including chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, and ductwork, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conducting thermal modeling and airflow simulations to optimize the layout and configuration of data center racks, aisles, and equipment to maximize cooling efficiency and airflow distribution.
  • Monitoring the performance and condition of HVAC systems, conducting regular inspections, maintenance, and performance testing to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Implementing energy-saving measures and sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact and operating costs of data center operations.
  • Managing relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that work is completed to the required standards and specifications.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of HVAC designs, specifications, installation plans, maintenance schedules, and performance data to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate future modifications or upgrades.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to other teams, including facilities management, operations, and security, on mechanical engineering-related matters.
  • Participating in emergency response and disaster recovery activities to mitigate the impact of mechanical failures or environmental hazards on data center operations.

Role requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the related field of work.
  • Experience in working with leading global data-centers.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
