We’re helping our client in identifying skilled professionals for building out and operating their facilities in Mumbai (India), Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia), Hong Kong and Taiwan.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical infrastructure of the data center facility. The primary focus will be on ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and efficiency of the building and its supporting systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborating with architects and engineers to design the layout and structure of the data center facility, considering factors such as space utilization, load-bearing capacity, and environmental considerations.
  • Managing the construction process, including bidding, contracting, scheduling, and quality control, to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Conducting site assessments and surveys to identify potential risks, such as geological hazards, soil instability, or environmental impact, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Overseeing the installation of building systems and infrastructure, such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, fire suppression, and security systems, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitoring the performance and condition of the building and its systems, conducting regular inspections and maintenance activities to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Managing relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that work is completed to the required standards and specifications.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of building plans, permits, inspection reports, and maintenance records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate future modifications or upgrades.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to other teams, including facilities management, operations, and security, on civil engineering-related matters.
  • Participating in emergency response and disaster recovery activities to mitigate the impact of natural disasters, accidents, or other unforeseen events on data center operations.

Role requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the related field of work.
  • Experience in working with leading global data-centers.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
