Key responsibilities
Contract Management:
- Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various business and legal contracts and documents such as leasing agreements, marketing contracts, finance agreements, and HR-related documents.
- Managing contract templates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
- Providing advice on legal and regulatory compliance matters related to business operations, including consumer law, employment law, health & safety regulations, and trade compliance.
Policies, Procedures, and Training:
- Assisting the APAC Legal Team in developing, implementing, and delivering training on policies and procedures concerning relevant legal and compliance topics.
General Legal Support:
- Managing relationships with external counsel.
- Monitoring legal updates and conducting legal research.
- Coordinating regional and group legal projects as needed.
Role requirements
- Minimum LLB/equivalent degree from a reputable university.
- Qualified lawyer in Australia, preferably in New South Wales, with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Dual qualification in Australia & New Zealand will be considered favorably.
Skills Required:
- Background in commercial or corporate law with prior in-house experience.
- Strong familiarity with Australian and New Zealand legal practices and laws.
- Excellent technical and communication skills.
- Preferred experience in real estate, employment law, retail, or FMCG industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
