We seek an experienced Head of IT Infrastructure who have been instrumental in Running and Building infrastructure for the organisation and holds expertise in software defined Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct involvement in engineering tasks such as server management, storage, private cloud administration, containerization, and cloud operations.
  • Proficiency in designing and managing public cloud architectures, implementing cost optimization strategies with FinOps tools.
  • Extensive understanding of software-defined infrastructure, data centre networking, and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Overseeing disaster recovery automation processes and ensuring seamless transitions between production and backup data centres.
  • Familiarity with networking components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and expertise in security protocols including IDS / IPS, WAF, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Ability to expedite infrastructure deployment while adhering to best security and operational practices.
  • Deploying modern observability stacks to enhance IT service management and production support, staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Profound knowledge of IT security protocols and frameworks for managing production environments.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and internal audit processes.
  • Ensures the delivery of robust, efficient, and professional operational IT services to key stakeholders.
  • Oversees the infrastructure components of the IT project pipeline and monitors ongoing progress against plans to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation including system records, maps, architectural diagrams, procedures, end-user guides, and technical data.
  • Possesses strong expertise in on-premises infrastructure design, implementation, and management, with a profound understanding of traditional data centre technologies, virtualization, server hardware, and networking (DCWAN, Branch/SDWAN).
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exhibits experience in DevSecOps and SRE practices, along with expertise in infrastructure automation.
  • Implements effective IT infrastructure architecture governance as a critical requirement.
  • Enhances the stability, performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of technology platforms across all IT systems. Conducts troubleshooting for recurring issues and leads problem-solving initiatives, including root cause analysis (RCA).

Role requirements

  • 15+ of leadership experience, demonstrating success in guiding modern infrastructure engineering, software-defined data centres, and IT infrastructure modernization initiatives cost-effectively.
  • Proficient in implementing modern observability stacks, infrastructure automation, software-defined infrastructure, and ensuring high availability, resiliency, and self-healing capabilities.
  • Skilled in automating infrastructure maintenance and switchover across multiple data centres, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Experience in managing teams of 30 – 50 employees.
  • Experienced in infrastructure inventory management using contemporary toolsets.
  • Deep understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a history of making sound decisions in complex and ambiguous scenarios.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of overseeing multiple initiatives concurrently and delivering results within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Knowledgeable about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Preferably from Banking / BFSI Space.
