Key responsibilities

  • The role will provide leadership for tax strategy and tax planning and be accountable as tax lead to business units.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the tax strategy for a diverse range of businesses.
  • Provide leadership on tax implications for business transactions, including tenders, mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and restructuring activities.
  • Support the implementation of tax projects and assess potential impact on our global tax position.
  • Manage tax filings to ensure statutory deadlines are met.
  • Manage tax audits, ensuring transparency and cooperation.
  • Partner with the business to integrate tax considerations into strategic decision-making processes.
  • Provide tax guidance and support for new business initiatives and expansion into new markets.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and consultants to leverage specialized expertise and optimize tax outcomes.
  • Work effectively with colleagues across the group, tax advisors, and service providers to promote collaboration and resolve issues.

Role requirements

  • Degree or Postgraduate degree in Accountancy and/or related major.
  • At least 10 years of international tax and relevant tax experience, preferably in a multinational corporation or reputable professional services firm.
  • Familiarity with key ASEAN countries’ taxation will be an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge, including international tax principles and understanding of transfer pricing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to diverse stakeholders to support decision-making at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
