Senior Group Manager – Extended Enterprise – Aerospace

The company is looking for a Senior Group Manager – Extended Enterprise, to be based out of Bangalore, India. The role of involves managing and accelerating IT operations and service delivery. The team supports IT solutions and services essential for the evolving corporate supply chain. This includes managing partner portals, virtual computer solutions, and specific activities, along with operations support for supplier onboarding, IT escalations, and change management.

 

As part of the digital function, this role will oversee the team in India, will be setting team goals, aligning with business strategies and technical trends, and guiding the team through effective communication, planning, monitoring, coaching, and leadership. This role requires strong people management and international collaboration capabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the team in India to achieve success and aligning with overall objectives.
  • Overseeing daily operations and driving continuous process improvements.
  • Developing team autonomy and accountability for quality service delivery.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize IT operations.
  • Managing and monitoring KPIs and SLAs, ensuring effective stakeholder communication.
  • Using performance management processes and training programs to lead the team.
  • Providing performance feedback, recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Collaborating with European counterparts to recruit based on business needs.
  • Managing escalations and proposing corrective actions when service delivery expectations are not met.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and providing oversight in line with organizational policies.
  • Empowering the team to take responsibility for their roles and goals.
  • Fostering a workplace culture consistent with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Managing team schedules, job rotations, and vacations, maintaining transparent communication with the team.
  • Making business decisions in accordance with organizational policies, overseeing budget management for the perimeter.
  • Driving programs and initiatives, ensuring harmonization and standardization with global process owners.
  • Supporting IT enablement processes and supplier enablement.
  • Quickly understanding new applications and projects transitioning to operations.
  • Providing solutions, designing direction, and recommendations for complex issues.
  • Understand the role of digitalization in meeting business objectives.
  • Conducting operations review meetings and manage escalations.
  • Acting as an intercultural bridge between Europe and India.
  • Ensuring adherence to agreed SLA / OLAs.
  • Coordinating globally engaged partners and working groups.
  • Managing global communications and alignment with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating a strong passion for IT operations and solving customer problems.

Role requirements

  • Graduate / post-graduate with 15+ years in service delivery and IT operations management.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • ITIL 4 certification is a must-have.
  • Experience in setting up and managing operations teams (Service Design, Transition, Operation).
  • Proven ability to develop, engage, and motivate teams.
  • Experience in building new teams and defining project / product roadmaps.
  • Expertise in service delivery management.
  • Understanding of ITSM tools like ServiceNow and service delivery architecture.
  • Ability to shift between domains and multi-skills experience.
  • Strong professional networking skills.
  • Experience managing suppliers and vendors.
  • Business process analysis experience.
  • Capability to understand and deliver new business and customer requirements in the digital domain.
  • Willingness to travel to Europe for short and long-term assignments.

 

Good to have:

  • Knowledge of aerospace domain, especially in communication and IT supplier management.
  • Familiarity with Agile / SAFe principles.
  • Awareness of quality management systems.
