Head Business Banking Technology – Business Banking

Our client is a Global Universal Bank, diversified by business, customer types, and geography. Their operations span across consumer banking and payments globally, and operate a top-tier, full-service corporate and investment bank. These activities are supported by their service company, which provides technology, operations, and functional services across the group.

 

Role Overview:

Roles requires you to be instrumental in establishing the Business Banking Technology practice for the client. This includes developing the organizational structure, operating model, digital capabilities for customers and colleagues, Salesforce and data engineering, risk platforms, and a digital online platform for SME/Business Banking customers. Ensure quality, governance, and policy adherence. Collaborate with Business Banking stakeholders to align with the long-term growth roadmap, delivering value services across the organization. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and foster strong relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital platforms aligned with Business Banking growth strategy.
  • Drive medium and long-term improvements across business and geographical boundaries.
  • Collaborate with the demand management team for efficient team sizing and execution.
  • Engage with digital technologies to enhance Business Banking Technology services.
  • Lead teams in salesforce, data, risk platforms, API engineering, and operations.
  • Embed regular reviews and performance management aligned with goals.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships with impact and influence.
  • Support operational objectives and organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluate and apply emerging system engineering methods and standards.

Role requirements

  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in building SME digital platforms, including frontline and back-office channels, API engineering, digital documentation, communications, deliveries, strategies, and long-term vision.
  • Extremely instrumental in Business Banking in global financial services organisations.
  • Experience managing large teams (200+ members) to enhance customer experience, colleague experience, back-office workflow, NPS, and digital transformation.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment and manage quality deliveries; experience in GCC/GBS is a plus.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in establishing digital customer and colleague platforms, DevOps, onboarding/servicing operations optimization, and directly collaborating with business teams to drive growth and cost efficiencies.
  • Experience in building digital, risk, and data Centres of Excellence, with valuable experience from large organizations or suppliers outside the banking sector.
  • Understanding of governance and compliance policies, standards, and procedures (e.g., data security, records management).
