Head Of IAM Technology – Banking

Our client is a British Universal Bank, diversified by business, customer types, and geography. Their operations span across consumer banking and payments globally, and operate a top-tier, full-service corporate and investment bank. These activities are supported by their service company, which provides technology, operations, and functional services across the group.

 

Role Overview:

 

Role has a seat at the Technology management table and will focus on:

  • Leading the delivery of the change program with IT teams and other departments.
  • Partnering with the IAM operations team to drive automation and simplification.
  • Building large-scale distributed systems using microservices, Spring Framework, BPMN, etc.
  • Ensuring the development team adheres to design and build standards and defines roles, reviews, and success criteria.
  • Managing stakeholders, leading senior routines, and defining governance for end-to-end projects.
  • Overseeing platform development, delivery, and testing to required specifications and standards.
  • Meeting technology, infrastructure, reporting, governance, roles, responsibilities, and program MIS standards.
  • Developing and executing location strategy and implementing LEAN and DevOps for efficiency and scale.

Key responsibilities

  • Building, hiring, and mobilizing individuals to form high-performing teams.
  • Leading the capability development of Technology, Process, Data, and MI areas for both “Run the Bank” and “Change the Bank” teams.
  • Setting direction, prioritizing tasks, and providing leadership to technology teams.
  • Partnering with the business to shape and design solutions, owning the change agenda.
  • Managing change mechanics, including routines, governance, documentation, and escalation.
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships directly.
  • Ensuring on-time delivery to required standards and specifications.
  • Communicating with the team, stakeholders, and internal partners (Finance, Risk, Operations, etc.).
  • Planning, tracking, and reporting deliverables.
  • Facilitate effective communications with all key stakeholders.

Role requirements

  • 15+ years of experience, bachelor’s degree in information technology; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Extensive experience in designing large-scale transformation programs in financial organizations.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects with Technology teams.
  • Proven leadership across multiple business areas, functions, and locations.
  • Persistent, positive attitude under challenging circumstances.
  • Managing and delivering IAM platforms for large organizations.
  • Experience with distributed web-scale applications and balancing legacy systems with transformation programs.
