Network Security and Firewall Expert (Contract, Leading MNC)

Key responsibilities

• 5+ years of strong experience in effectively managing firewalls
• Ensure that the firewall configuration aligns with the organization’s security policies and industry’s best practices, and that the firewall is positioned to provide optimal protection
• Evaluate the existing access control rules to ensure that only necessary traffic is allowed and unauthorized traffic is blocked
• Check the order of rules to ensure they are in the correct sequence, and the matching rule is applied
• Document and review of any changes made to the configurations, firewall rules, requests, approvals and denials
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to understand and address any of the firewall or network securities related issues
• Analyze and resolve security challenges and translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Stay abreast with firewall management and network security related industry trends and best practices
• Provide prudent recommendations to ensure continuous improvements to firewall management process and policies
