Head of Technology Retirement Income Solutions

Head of Technology for RIS be the strategic leader responsible for seamless delivery Tech services, strategically directing and coordinating the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of business systems and business processes for the Information Technology functions.

 

The role also entails thought leadership towards transformation, cost optimization, efficiency, technology first line risk and value-added solutions for the business across India locations. As a key member of the RIS Management team, this role will require the individual to be the independent voice to understand and prioritize the strategic and tactical roadmap. This role requires the ability to define and implement strategy and manage BAU operations with a fine balance of independence and interdependence.

Key responsibilities

  • Subject matter understanding in the Retirement domain with a good understanding of legacy and web enabled systems and technology for this business line and running Tech operations.
  • The role will be responsible for leading and delivering the Company’s RIS strategy, priorities, agenda and overall Company strategic imperatives.
  • Have proven expertise in building, leading and managing cross-geography inclusive and diverse teams which are skilled and future-ready.
  • Collaborate across functional and organizational areas to define, prioritize and ensure implementation of specific innovations to improve technical functionality in support of business need and efficiencies.
  • Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as business objectives to the technical team. Use strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders including customers, senior management and other business leaders. Able to articulate the connection to the division and enterprise business strategies.
  • Displays big picture thinking with an ability to be hands on during times of transformation and change and provides directional coaching and holistic roadmap to drive the Company’s business and strategic imperatives.
  • Drive efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity and build strong mechanisms to track value derived from these initiatives for business and stakeholders, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Consult and communicate with business partners to understand business strategy and make recommendations on future technical trends / directions that encompass multiple systems and teams to meet business strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions within the business and empower the execution of tactical plans. Advocate the strategic direction at the project / service level. Identify areas of greatest enterprise need and create plans to improve or influence them.
  • Consistently influence decision-making at the business and enterprise level. Direct systems development processes and strategic plans to take advantage of technological changes.
  • Preemptive and proactive Risk management by enabling first line of defense by adopting and driving execution of technology operations risk management framework within the Company.
  • Ability to build governance practices and principles to support business service delivery, manage customer escalations and incident management.
  • Manage program / project delivery engagement tasks, issue resolution and communication across execution teams to manage the engagement successfully.
  • Participate in relevant RIS Technology related enterprise forums, critical governance / forums / conferences in building business solutions which help our end customers.
  • Translate growth plans into strong strategic workforce plans with global partners and Company Business Enablement Services partners to enable execution of the plans.
  • Drive culture of high performance, process improvement and transformation to drive value and optimization.
  • Significant people management capability, be able to lead and manage an aspiring team of highly skilled and tenured staff.
  • Skilled in managing global stakeholders across geographies and navigate the global matrix organization through collaboration and influence.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and support to directs to ensure the team meets or exceeds business strategic imperative and adds value beyond meeting targets.
  • Display commercial mindset and leadership maturity around harnessing support through influence and building relationships.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to better serve business.
  • Understand and represent Principal code of conduct, core values, leadership expectations and stay guided by them while making decisions, leading teams, partnering, and coaching to build strong succession.

Role requirements

  • Preferred educational background: bachelor’s / master’s degree, excellent leadership and problem-solving ability with analytical and decision-making skills are required. Must have an overall knowledge of the industry, as well as broad knowledge of the technologies in the financial services sector.
  • Information Services functions of the company expertise in the US Retirement business is must-have.
  • Total years of industry experience: Minimum of 18 years professional experience in BFSI IT / ITeS industry of which 12+ years doing complex or leadership roles with U.S retirement operations.
