AVP / VP – Private Banking/Wealth Management Controller

We are currently partnering with an international bank who have a strong presence in Singapore and the wider SEA region.

They are looking to hire either an AVP or VP level candidate into their finance team support their Wealth Management business in Singapore, covering a broad range of products.

This role will act as a key finance advisory function. This includes areas such as financial resource usage, legal entity booking models, bespoke transaction setups and approvals, business analysis, technical projects, cross-functional collaboration, management information systems (MIS), and legal entity transfer pricing.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee product control for the Wealth Management business, aligned with Private Banking Finance standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation, verification, and reporting of daily P&L and MIS for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business, Operations, Risk, Treasury, FC&R, CMA, Valuations, and other functions to resolve queries related to booking, valuation, accounting, financial resources, and management reporting.
  • Perform in-depth reviews and analyses of Wealth Management business activities to identify significant items for senior management.
  • Handle month-end processes, including balance sheet substantiation, transfer pricing, MIS/KPI reporting, and validation of key management metrics.
  • Support cross-asset onboarding initiatives across firm-wide booking platforms and evaluate legal entity suitability. Review and assess new business transactions presented to relevant committees.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or accounting qualification.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience, with expertise in Private Banking accounting practices, balance sheet substantiation, transfer pricing, and MIS reporting.
  • Familiarity with Avaloq banking suite would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of legal entity and management reporting controls
