The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of HVAC-related projects. The role includes managing all phases of HVAC system installations, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, scope, cost estimates, and resource allocation. Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of HVAC projects.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring costs remain within the approved budget. Efficiently manage resources and handle change orders.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead teams of subcontractors and professionals. Provide direction, support, and performance monitoring to ensure project success.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they meet project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and quality standards. Implement safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate issues. Handle challenges and make adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Communication and Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact, providing updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve any technical, operational, or client-related issues that arise during the course of the project to ensure smooth execution.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or equivalent. Candidates without the required qualifications but with substantial experience in a similar role may also apply.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HVAC project management or a related field, with a proven track record of managing large HVAC installations and upgrades.
  • HVAC certifications and project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is preferred.

 

Experience & Competency

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and utilize manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Capable leader with integrity, passion, knowledge, and drive for improvement.
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision.
  • Competency in implementing Singapore standards, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
