Front Office Quantitative Research – Compute

We are looking for a Compute Engineer to support and enhance the computational infrastructure of a high-performance Quantitative Research environment. This role involves managing and improving the technical stack that powers research and development, ensuring seamless and efficient computing operations.

 

As part of this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high-performance systems, optimizing computation processes, and ensuring smooth infrastructure operations. Since this position requires covering APAC independently for part of the day, a high degree of autonomy is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Enhance and maintain the computational infrastructure supporting Quantitative Research.
  • Optimize performance of computing resources and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Work with C++, C#, or Rust to develop and improve core system functionalities.
  • Utilize Python or other scripting languages for automation and system enhancements.
  • Apply Computer Science principles such as algorithms, complexity analysis, and distributed computing to optimize infrastructure.
  • Manage Linux-based environments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with global teams and work independently to support the APAC region.

Role requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure development.
  • Proficiency in at least one of C++, C#, or Rust for system development.
  • Experience with Python or equivalent scripting languages for automation.
  • Strong understanding of Computer Science concepts – algorithms, complexity, distributed computing, etc.
  • Hands-on experience working in Linux environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities independently.
