Key responsibilities
Advanced Pricing & Promotion Modeling
- Lead the end-to-end development of RGM analytics, including modeling frameworks for price elasticity, promotion effectiveness, portfolio optimization, trade spend optimization, and incrementality measurement.
- Build scalable machine learning and statistical models using advanced techniques (e.g., Bayesian hierarchical models, time-series forecasting, causal inference, reinforcement learning).
- Develop simulation engines and scenario-planning tools to guide strategic revenue decisions.
Data Strategy & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with data engineering to design robust data pipelines and feature stores using syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI), ERP/transactional data, shopper panel data, digital media data, and internal systems.
- Establish modeling standards, versioning, model monitoring, and governance frameworks.
Business Partnership & Strategic Influence
- Translate analytical outputs into clear stories, recommendations, and RGM playbooks for senior business stakeholders across marketing, sales, finance, and category teams.
- Identify high-impact opportunities for automation, model integration, and new data-driven products within the RGM ecosystem.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on pricing and revenue analytics best practices for the CPG sector.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor junior data scientists and analysts; contribute to code reviews, model validation, and architectural decisions.
- Drive innovation by evaluating new modeling techniques, data sources, and tools to enhance solution capabilities.
- Collaborate with product managers to define analytics roadmap, technical requirements, and measurable success criteria.
Role requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- 3 – 6 years of experience building predictive models, ideally within the CPG, retail, or consumer analytics domains.
- Proven expertise in Revenue Growth Management, including pricing, promotions, and trade optimization.
- Strong fluency in Python/R, SQL, and machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Prophet, Stan/PyMC, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, retailer POS, loyalty card data).
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences and influence executive-level stakeholders.
- Experience deploying models in production environments and working with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with causal inference, uplift modeling, or marketing mix modeling (MMM).
- Familiarity with pricing optimization engines, elasticity modeling, or trade spend management platforms.
- Experience in building analytics-driven products or decision-support tools.
- Knowledge of containerization, MLOps, or modern data stack tools (Databricks, dbt, Airflow).
