VP – Middle Office (FX/Macro)

We are supporting a leading global investment bank with a strong international presence in identifying a VP level FX Middle Office candidate . The firm has a well-established global franchise across investment banking, markets, and securities, with a strong presence in Asia and a broad range of institutional clients.

This role sits within the Middle Office function, supporting FX trading activities across the Asia region. The team ensures accurate trade capture and effective end-to-end trade lifecycle management across the firm’s books and records. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between the Trading Desk and cross-functional stakeholders, proactively identifying and mitigating operational and control risks, maintaining strong governance frameworks, and driving strategic change initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and support the evolving needs of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end trade capture and lifecycle processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to operational controls.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for Front Office and regional stakeholders, managing escalations and driving effective cross-functional resolution.
  • Provide governance and oversight of offshore teams, ensuring strong operational discipline and consistent delivery against business requirements.
  • Maintain robust risk and control frameworks in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards; lead root cause analysis and remediation of control gaps.
  • Partner with senior management, Business Managers, and corporate functions on risk management, new initiatives, and control enhancements, ensuring risks are appropriately identified and mitigated.
  • Drive automation, digitalization, and best-practice initiatives, leveraging data and technology to improve productivity, strengthen controls, and support informed decision-making.

Role requirements

  • 10+ years of Middle Office experience in FX derivatives, with strong expertise in FX structured products and front-to-back trade flows, including Risk and P&L.
  • Proven team leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, challenge effectively, escalate appropriately, and support business objectives.
  • Strong operational risk, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with proven experience managing complex transactions, resolving exceptions, and delivering accurately under pressure and tight deadlines.
