US Legal Entity Controller (LEC)

Our client is a leading financial institution seeking talent into US Legal Entity Controlling .

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Become familiar with all statutory financial reporting
• Interpret information from regulatory, accounting and tax circulars and implement changes to, when appropriate, the requisite front-to-back infrastructure used to capture data used for financial reporting
• Prepare and provide financial information on an ad-hoc basis to support regulatory queries/inspections

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• 17+ years of relevant experience post qualification in Finance within a major global financial institution
• Experience in overseeing the production of publicly disclosed financial statements for a a major global financial institution
• Sufficient knowledge of the contents of financial statements such that regulatory queries related to financials can be understood
• Expert knowledge of financial products (derivatives, swaps, interest, bonds, credit, etc.) with an understanding of how such products are booked and reflected in the general ledger
• Strong computer skills (advanced excel and macro/access), Oracle/SAP experiences. Exposure to emerging technologies is desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and independent having a control mindset
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver as well as being able to adapt to changes
• Qualified Chartered /CPA(mandate), with a degree in accounting or business preferred 16+ year of professional experience with proven ability to direct and supervise a large team.
• Prior investment banking or finance shared service experience that focused on performance measurements and with on/offshore presence is a plus
• Proven knowledge of IFRS and US  GAAP accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement agenda to improve quality and reduce costs Provides thought leadership to shape future decisions
