Head of Finance (Startup)

Our client is an exciting TMT startup with growing resources, networks and partners in the region and led by some of the best veterans in the industry. They are looking for a Head of Finance to manage the function and lead a team of accountants. This position will report into and work closely with the CEO.

Key responsibilities

  • Have oversight of general accounting, financial reporting and operations, cash flow analysis and balance sheet management.
  • Drive periodic financial planning and reporting activities.
  • Lead annual budgeting process and long-term planning.
  • Effectively business partner with other HODs on budgeting, scenario analysis and provide insights on performance.
  • Maintain the company’s financial model and provide key financial updates to internal stakeholders, Board members and investors.
  • Manage the Company’s fundraising plans and capital structure.
  • Ensuring proper internal controls are in place especially with regards to Procurement
  • Responsible for all finance and statutory filing requirements including tax and audit.

Role requirements

  • Finance experience within start-up environments will be a plus.
  • Experience with managing fundraising will be excellent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields or higher qualifications with at least 8-10 years related working experience.
  • CPA/ CA qualifications preferred.
  • Good analytical and solid financial modelling skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (specifically Oracle NetSuite).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and comfortable working within a “start-up” environment.
