Our client is a global manufacturing MNC, with major partnerships with other world-renowned brands. They’re looking for a Regional Legal & Compliance Officer who will provide leadership on its Global Compliance Program and the business’s regional legal matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with regional senior management on all ethics and compliance matters.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop, enhance and operationalize critical compliance programs across the region (i.e., monitoring, training, policies, third party compliance), as well as leading the roll out of such programs with relevant teams within the Global Ethics & Compliance Council.
  • Develop strong knowledge of, and effective working relationships with, countries/affiliates within region, working closely with the relevant member(s) of Legal function and the relevant Compliance Liaison in each such country to ensure seamless and consistent compliance support.
  • Liaise closely with members of the Global Ethics & Compliance and Internal Audit in developing relevant risk assessments and ensuing remediation plans.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key business leaders to ensure involvement in critical business initiatives.
  • Monitoring of the regulatory and broader compliance environment, determine the potential impact of regulatory changes and drive necessary changes to relevant compliance policies and processes.
  • Involvement in drafting and reviewing of commercial contracts, participating in negotiations, ensuring compliance to regulations.
  • Involvement in ad-hoc regional projects, disputes and transactional matters as they arise

Role requirements

  • Relevant degree qualifications in law (J.D., LLB, etc)
  • 10+ years of compliance experience within private practice/consulting and within a commercial setting preferred.
  • Prior hands-on experience in internal audit, forensic investigation, third-party due diligence, and data analytics in manufacturing or supply chain industries preferred.
  • Solid appreciation of global compliance requirements such as the US FCPA, UK Bribery Act, etc.
  • Familiar with working on a multi-jurisdictional global compliance program.
  • Experience in initiating and implementing measures which can prevent and detect illegal, unethical, non-compliance or unacceptable behaviors by employees, agents, suppliers, contractors or other parties.
