Senior Finance Manager (Commodities)

Our client is a renowned FMCG who has created a new headcount to support its growing business. You will manage its recent commodity hedging program for one of its major divisions. Ideally you have solid experience in commodities hedging or as a commodity risk manager for procurement/supply chain teams within MNCs, or possess expertise from Big 4 accounting firms with commodities/trading clients and a strong appreciation of IFRS 9/IAS 39.

Key responsibilities

  • Educate and influence senior stakeholders to embrace and support the adoption of the Commodity Risk Management Programme
  • Lead month-end close activities in relation to commodity accounting, hedge evaluation and reporting
  • Proactively partner with procurement to identify risk and opportunities for covered and uncovered commodities and establish program to mitigate inflation risk associated with Commodities (oil, metal, raw materials, paper, plastic etc)
  • Ensure and maintain full hedge accounting compliance and application of IFRS 9
  • Perform Commodity Price Forecast, supporting with meaningful analysis
  • Act as a key point of contact for commodity risk management between internal parties (procurement, corporate finance, division finance) and external parities (audit, consultants, etc)

Role requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant finance and accounting specialisation
  • Relevant professional qualifications (CPA, CA etc) would be ideal
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably within global MNCs but Big 4 Managers and above with solid experience working with commodity/trading clients are welcome
  • Expertise in IFRS 9/IAS 39
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills
