Head of Consumer

Our client is Malaysia’s No 1 credit bureau with high growth potential within the fin tech space as a RM2bil organisation. As a credit bureau, they provide solutions, analytics and data to banks and other credit providers to enable them to make more timely and better credit decisions. They also have a consumer business segment whereby it sells directly to consumers, individual credit report self-check service, an identity theft and credit monitoring subscription service and a credit matching product, partnering with various channels such as banks, corporates etc.

As part of their expansion plans, they are searching for an experienced Head of Consumer to drive their B2C business ambitions and go-to-market strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Grow consumer revenues to RM40mn in 3 years, by increasing penetration of existing products and introducing new products.
  • For existing products, identify approaches to attract new consumers and improve the conversion rates, and continuously enhance the product value proposition.
  • For new products, conduct research projects regularly to discover products currently on trend and explore creative methods to introduce and market them effectively to consumers.

Role requirements

  • Have led an online consumer credit business, for at least 5-7 years (P&L responsibility)
  • Those with 3-5 years’ experience in digitisation of retail banks can be considered.
  • Proven track record of rapidly scaling up online consumer businesses (e.g., 100-200% growth over 2-3 years).
  • Experience in conceptualising new products with strong consumer value propositions to drive business growth.
  • Strong track record in developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies for new products, including the use of 3rd party channels where necessary.
  • Ability to work with product development and other teams to deliver product enhancements, new products, etc., in an accelerated manner.
  • Deep knowledge in online marketing strategies to build brand/ product awareness and acquire customers cost effectively.
  • Keen eye for required UI/UX to increase online conversion rates.
  • Collaborative style, able to garner support on ideas and implementation within short timeframes and a proven track record in hiring and retaining a high-performance team.
