Finance Manager – GL & Consolidation (Maritime)

Our client is a global maritime business seeking a technically strong and hands-on individual to oversee its general ledger and consolidation. As Finance Manager, you will be part of its global finance team in Singapore leading and developing a small but driven accounting team.

You will also have opportunities to be involved with other special projects in addition to your day-to-day activities, including reengineering of accounting operations to enable greater efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of group accounts and its finalization for internal and external reporting
  • Front statutory audits and liaise with tax agents for corporate tax filings and compliance matters, furnishing further detailed information if required
  • Ensure timely update of accounting policies and transfer pricing documentation
  • Proactively drive the restructuring of business processes to improve data accuracy and increase efficiency
  • Drive and safeguard a sound financial and operational internal control environment
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and lead the development of direct reportees

Role requirements

  • At least 10 years relevant experience, preferably with experience in maritime/offshore/shipping/logistics
  • Solid technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, ideally Oracle
  • Team management experience
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to collaborate well with senior stakeholders and other teams within the region and globally
