Enterprise Architect

Our client is an International Bank with a long-standing history, who are looking for Enterprise Architects to join their various CIO departments, servicing the bank on the operations or technology edge.

This highly visible role sits in the technology and innovation functions and is an important role with lots of accountability. The role’s focus is on defining the relationships, flows and implementation of processes, activities, functions and information businesses, applications, data and technology in the bank to achieve the strategy architecture and the transitional steps for implementing IT in response to business priorities and changing business needs. It is a key role in ensuring an innovative and sustainable enterprise, create intentional architecture to be nimble for the Future of Banking.

Key responsibilities

  • Creation of domain business model, utilizing TOGAF architecture principles for technology and business strategic initiatives.
  • Improve and streamline Enterprise Architecture governance and decisioning across the strategic Technology Themes (API, Cloud, Data, etc) and Emerging Technologies.
  • Develop and apply architectural Principles which drive investment decisions in alignment with Strategies of Business, Function and Country, against a defined business outcome.
  • Conduct Technology Councils that govern the adherence of solution designs to agreed Architectural Principles.
  • Define architectures for a consistent, quality client experience across multiple products.
  • Work with Technology governance to issue appropriate policies, procedures and quality checks for adoption of Technology standards across the Bank.
  • Responsible for managing design, development and implementation and improving the architecture of enterprise applications to deliver value to businesses.
  • Ensuring a full understanding of the risk and control environment within the Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy organization.
  • Accountable for managing the design, development and implementation and improvement of infrastructure architecture of the enterprise to deliver value to their business, including hosting, network, security, voice, etc.
  • Define, develop and manage standards and requires application architecture such as Core Banking, GL, Data warehouses, Risk & Compliance initiatives for the delivery of projects.
  • Direct the development and maintenance of the goals of the architecture of applications based on the priorities of the business requirements.
  • Establish and implement in accordance with architectural techniques that generate a spirit of cooperation and adherence to application architecture.
  • Monitor and adapt the technological advantages of implementing the goals of application architecture as appropriate.
  • Ensure the consumability of data architecture and business models.
  • Drive development and update of data architecture assets.
  • Monitor technological benefits and adapt the implementation of the goals of data architecture as appropriate.
  • Define, establish and manage technology architecture standards and required initiatives and project deliverables

Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/IT management or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in enterprise architecture will be advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of working experiences.
  • Domain exposure/experience in Financial Services is required.
  • TOGAF certification is advantageous.
  • International exposure, ability to handle cultural diversity and developing high performers are essential to this role.
  • Significant experience in Technology at senior level
  • Ability to possess sharp business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return)
  • Effective communicator, having the ability to communicate complex, often vague topics in a compelling manner.
  • Ability to understand geographically dispersed and highly varied customer and product base.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity
