VP – Reporting and Data Projects (Data Governance)

Our client is global Investment company, headquartered in Singapore with offices internationally, who are looking for a VP level Reporting & Data Projects (Data Governance) role within their Finance & Accounting team

This role will work with the finance team around Data Governance and Data Quality, observing data and building a structure to ensure that all required data is ready for the Finance & Accounting team to use for financial and operational reporting.

Key responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain data models for financial instruments, managing the data lifecycle of the finance and operations data, managing and operating the end-to-end reporting cycle, monitor data issues arising from finance operations and reporting, investigate root causes and design solutions, and use automation tools to drive efficiency and quality of data and reporting.
Drive data quality, implement best practices on data management standards and continuously improve internal processes
Take part in an enterprise-wide data project as a key representative from the business unit to ensure delivery of the requirements; managing and executing deliverables, engaging with stakeholders, drive improvements in data management standards, design and implement processes and controls, execute data migration and UAT, review existing processes and implement improvements.

Role requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Science, Mathematics
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in data operations / data solutioning and management, within the Financial Services industry
Knowledge of best practices in data management, governance, experience in delivering data projects and understanding issues arising in data quality, with an ability to propose solutions to overcome.
Experience in using advanced MS Excel modules including VBA, Power Query, Python/R within data management and process automation, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI.
