Director – Strategic Vendor Management

Our client is a leading Global Financial Institution engaged in personal banking, credit cards, corporate and investment banking, and wealth management with an extensive presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.

Actively seeking an experienced Director – Strategic Vendor Management to oversee Vendor Management and Sourcing activities for Group Technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic approach towards Supplier and Vendor Management
  • Global Vendor Management with hands on Vendor Life Cycle – Contract Negotiations, Approval Governance, Demand Challenge Process (DCP), Purchase Order (PO) creation and invoice management.
  • Working knowledge of OCIR regulations and ring-fencing rules
  • Proactively manage communication channels with senior stakeholders & vendors both internally and externally.

Role requirements

  • Qualified Accountant – (ACA/CIMA/CFA) OR MBA (Finance)
  • A proven track record with 15+ years of managing Global Vendor Management and ownership of Supplier Operating Model (SOM).
  • Strong understanding of Vendor Contracts and Negotiations specifically around Technology (Hardware, Software and Professional Services).
  • Sound working knowledge of Cost Reporting & Analytics and Accounting principles.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability in setting direction and prioritization
  • Strong communication and influencing skills required to be successful in this role
  • Strong inter-personal skills and evidence of working across teams and geographies to produce timely and accurate output.
