Business Analyst

A well-known multinational marketing and communication agency is seeking for a Business Analyst to join their team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have deep digital expertise, extensive business analysis experience and be able to build the bridge between business and clients. The experienced Business Analyst will work with team of Digital Experts from various fields to deliver innovative and compelling projects for a wide variety of clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Capture business requirements, analyze and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications documentation.
  • Conduct interviews, fact finding activities and lead requirements gathering and analysis workshops and meetings.
  • Experience in facilitating stakeholder interview and brainstorming sessions to gather business requirements from Client team.
  • Identify and validate requirement gaps and propose viable alternatives / Skilled in analyzing and reengineering business processes and recommending solutions.
  • Perform impact analysis due to change requests, enhancement, or rework.
  • Manage business and operational requirements within agreed scope, escalate of scope creep.
  • To be part of the prioritization exercise of user stories/features on a project and sprint activities (i.e., daily standups, product backlog grooming, sprint planning, etc.).
  • Bridge between business and technical teams so that applications are designed and built according to requirements.
  • Work with developers to produce prototypes/proof of concepts to confirm understanding of user requirements.
  • Perform testing activities, where required, to ensure application is built according to specifications.
  • Ability to conduct demos and training to the client stakeholders/users of the functionality developed.
  • Provide support to users during user acceptance testing.
  • Present and communicate validated requirements, functional design, mock-ups to users/stakeholders.
  • Create user stories on tools like (JIRA) and work with the project team to update relevant documentation as necessary in (Confluence).
  • Align acceptance criteria with the clients and the technical teams.
  • Support the QA team as they create the test cases.
  • Facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, and demonstrated success at building teams and relationships with key people in local and remote sites.

Role requirements

  • Degree in related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Well-versed in writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Proven project delivery experience using Agile, Waterfall, Lean and/or Continuous Delivery.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, processes (SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, Lean) and tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Good understanding of technical development in a digital environment.
  • Understanding of leading digital platforms and technologies (e.g., AEM, Sitecore, Drupal, Salesforce Marketing Cloud etc.).
  • Excellent Presentation & Communication skills, able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Certification Business analysis, Product Management, PMP / Scrum Master / Prince 2 certification.
  • Hands-on experience CMS tools (Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, or similar) and MarTech tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe target or similar).
  • Understanding of design thinking and user experience principles.
