  • VP – Financial Reporting

Key responsibilities

  • For the Senior VP – Regulatory Reporting (Capital):
    • Subject matter expert on Capital adequacy requirements (“CAR”) and MAS Notice 637.
    • Responsible for the CAR submissions to MAS and Pillar 3 public disclosures.
    • Review business proposals and advise RWA/Capital treatment.
    • Review regulatory updates to ascertain impact on CAR reporting and engage stakeholders, as required, perform gap analysis, and implement changes to the reporting systems.
    • Manage the end-to-end local stress testing, entity wide stress testing and industry wide stress, including regulatory submissions.
    • Manage local regulatory reporting change projects (Basel 3 reforms “B3R”).
    • Manage transformation initiatives and participate in testing for new products / systems that impact CAR reporting.
    • Ensure overall control environment on regulatory reporting always remains effective.
    • Engage with the regulators on ad-hoc requests and queries and seek clarification on CAR related matters, where required.
    • Ensure compliance with BCBS239 requirements.

 

  • For the VP – Financial Reporting:
    • Responsibility for local financial reporting, operational/transactional accounting and ledger closing within deadlines.
    • Works with the production center to ensure all Group submissions are completed within timelines.
    • Provides accounting advice / support to global businesses on new product launches and system changes.
    • Support implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
    • Liaise with external auditors on the year-end audit and ensure all submissions are provided within timelines.
    • Participate in user testing in relation to system upgrades and automation initiatives.
    • Look for automation initiatives and work towards solution to streamline manually intensive processes.
    • Perform reconciliation and substantiation on accounts assigned.

Role requirements

  • For the Senior VP – Regulatory Reporting (Capital):
    • Very good understanding of MAS 637 and upcoming changes pursuant to B3R.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in Finance, predominantly on CAR related submissions.
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent degree.

 

  • For the VP – Financial Reporting:
    • Degree in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Finance professional with minimum 7 to 10 years relevant experience – either from work in Big 4 auditing Banks or working in the Financial Reporting team of another Bank.
    • Experience in Head Office reporting / audit of Group submission of banks.
    • Good understanding of IFRS and ability to interpret the standards on practical situations.
