Supporting our client, in global agricultural commodities to hire a Strategic Investments and Business Development Analyst. The role essentially covers: M&A, Joint Ventures to Greenfield Investments, divestments and look at strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • End-to-end management of acquisition and divestment processes.
  • Evaluation of investment proposals and strategic initiatives.
  • Tracking of approved investments & on-going projects and Preparing reports to the corporate center.
  • M&A and Organic investments:
    • Support the execution of investment/divestment projects: business case development, valuation and financial modelling, due-diligence, structuring, documentation, and project management.
    • Review organic investment proposals and prepare recommendations for approval.
    • Monitor performance of on-going projects and report on cost and timeline performance.
    • Review performance of organic & inorganic investments and prepare management reports to facilitate reviews at Investment Committee and Board level.
  • Strategic Projects:
    • Support cross-functional strategic projects: market analyses, peer reviews, assessment of business opportunity potential, business strategic reviews, etc.
    • Provide insight into the group’s/BU strategy by performing ad-hoc analyses.
    • Help business units in evaluating long term strategic options and value creation initiatives.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Understand emerging trends and opportunities including but not limited to competition, changes in customer preference and advancement in technology.
    • Manage relationships with market data providers, internal and external.
    • Gather and leverage market and competitive intelligence to produce meaningful analysis and communicate to management in a cohesive manner.

Role requirements

  • Degree in Finance & Accounting/Business Management with CFA qualifications.
  • Min 8 years & above relevant experience in investment projects analysis and management, in-house or with a top tier advisory firm. Experience in agricultural commodities or B2B food industry is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and financial modelling skills with critical analytical abilities to draw sound conclusions from various information and multiple data sources.
  • Solid knowledge of valuation & accounting concepts.
  • International background and ability to work in cross cultural and cross-functional teams.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with tools like Capital IQ, Thompson Reuters.
  • Strong ownership and commitment levels; able to work independently.
  • Attentive to details, excellent communicator at all levels, strong team player.
