Director – Network Reliability Engineer

The role of Network Reliability Engineering Director contributes to the strategic objectives of the Network Services Department by providing 24×7 support of production network platform by managing SRE/NRE & DevOps team members across multiple geographical zones (APAC, EMEA, AMER).

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain 24×7 production environment with a high level of service availability. Perform quality reviews, manage operational issues.
  • Interface with Dev/QA/OPS teams to identify root cause analysis and re instrument triggers to prevent future network degradation and outages.
  • Provide leadership and direction to SRE/NRE & DevOps staff that are responsible for break-fix, uptime, and reliability for core networking services.
  • Explore and innovate new networking and high availability technologies, features, and tools.
  • Partner with architecture and engineering teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture.
  • Implement automation and orchestration for manual processes required to operate and deploy classic and software defined networking services, be at the heart of developing new ideas into internal OPS/SRE tools by working closely with advanced technology and SMEs.
  • Provide leadership and managerial coaching to SRE/NRE & DevOps teams within the department.

Role requirements

  • You bring in a deep technical network data and security experience in a large enterprise complex network environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related filed and equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in handling data network in a large-scale enterprise, preferably in the financial industry.
  • Ability to design, deliver, measure, and big networking environments with 50k+ VMs of high-growth SaaS systems with 99.99%+ SLA.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or equivalent.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services including micro services.
  • Deep understanding of the software delivery process with the ability to implement and enforce that process across the organization.
  • Excellent project management skills. Understands the difference between waterfall, agile, scrum and any other project management tools to effectively strick the right balance.
  • Experience with public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in handling global teams and vendors.
  • Role requires high level of technical skills and in-depth knowledge of communications network.
  • Strong knowledge of network security considerations in network architecture and design.
