Key responsibilities

  • Support of Network & Voice Services on a global, follow the sun basis across the firm:
    • Responsible for leading the US Networks and Voice L2/L3 Operations team.
    • Responsible for EME Networks and Voice L2/L3 Operations.
    • Accountable for India/Asia/EME Incident, Problem and Change management disciplines for Networks and Voice.
    • Responsible for delivery of sustaining controls into EME Networks and Voice e.g., Patching, Secure Builds.
    • Accountable for automation of EME Networks and Voice operations – e.g., self-healing, automated runbooks, automated change deployment.
    • Engaged in platform strategy, engineering, and product management decisions, providing operations requirements.
    • Accountable for executing resiliency events and using resiliency for operational recovery within Networks and Voice with a highly automated runbook.

Role requirements

  • Lead, manage and organize India Networks and Voice operations to execute the Barclays Strategy and Business Unit / Functional plans within committed financial targets for the delivery of all managed function services and adhere to group policies. Be accountable to the Head of Networks and Voice Service Operations and / or other Functional Heads for quality and control of all services provided on their behalf: Specifically:
    • Ensure that technology services are stable, available, resilient, and secure when providing innovative and progressive products and services, and in partnering with the Business Units & Functional Peers to ensure their client and customer strategies are successfully achieved.
    • Pioneer innovation in automation of operations & products, continually enhancing the stability availability, resilience and security leading to capacity creation through uptime of customer and client services.
    • Develop and embed a regional governance model within Networks and Voice for operations.
    • Build a culture of high trust, collaboration, and engagement across technology services, embedding effective partnerships with Functional Peers, Business Units, and ensuring Operations and Technology realize opportunities that benefit both the Group and individual Business Units.
    • Matrix reporting into the Global Head of Command Centers.
  • Implement & operate an effective system of controls across Networks & Voice infrastructure. This should include a clear organization structure and formal system of delegations of authority and accountability and a framework of supervision. Accountable for ensuring Barclays group policies are implemented and consistently applied within technology services.
  • Responsible for monitoring technology services performance against SLA’s made to key business stakeholders (the Business Units and other Functions) and for customer and client delivery for technology services, and compliance with all laws, regulations and the Barclays policies.
  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership
    • Extensive senior leadership experience at Director or VP level.
    • Able to influence senior stakeholders of the merits of a strategic direction, when faced with resistance to change. Achieves this by being persuasive, reasoned, and factual.
    • Proven ability to inspire people to deliver both through direct lines of management as well as through influence within a matrix organization.
    • Proven ability to unite and lead geographically and technically disparate teams from both business and technology heritages.
    • Champions new initiatives both within and outside of role scope and is sought for expert advice and opinion across the organization.
    • A genuine passion for excellence and delivery.
    • Experience of developing and leading high performing teams.
  • Decision-making and Problem Solving
    • This role requires evaluative judgement and analytical skills. Detail should be provided as to the type and complexity of problems and This role is pivotal in developing and enhancing existing systems, services, and processes.
