Key responsibilities

  • The primary purpose of the Data Migration Developer / Analyst role is the design and development of extract, transform and load processes. This role works closely with the customer to understand their business processes and data needs. The secondary purpose is to provide support to the business and technology departments to ensure availability of required information and data.
  • Strategic Focus:
    • Managing the delivery of the project with his/her technical expertise.
    • Contribution to the project with his/her skills and resolving any blockers.
    • Manage the professional delivery of business data migration services.
  • Operational Management:
    • Connect with different stake holders of the project to get the clear development objective.
    • Work with development team members to achieve the delivery timelines.
    • Provide solution to the team members for any technical challenges.
    • Co-ordinate with TA/TBA, SDM, Technical Lead and Testing team to resolve any blockers for the project.
    • Process improvement for releasing bug free products.
    • Promote a culture of learning latest on technologies and keep the team members engaged.
    • Provide support to the development and production environments.
    • Involvement in database upgrades and migration planning.
    • Raise change controls and defects.
    • Provide support to the business and demonstrate a good understanding of Share Registry and Funds Administration.
    • Provide the relevant requirements and advice for the development and implementation of data transformations.
    • Prevent system downtime and performance degradation by design, development and implementation of the necessary administration and maintenance procedures.
    • Prevent problems by understanding new and existing applications across the organization, system capabilities and limitations.
  • People Leadership:
    • Contributing to the project team for delivery.
  • Governance & Risk:
    • Reviewing at the coding standards to comply with Infosec principles.

Role requirements

  • Experience using Informatica / Oracle / SQL.
  • Basic business principles and business and industry-specific terminology.
  • Business case analysis, quality assurance concepts and procedures.
  • Data cleaning, updating, editing, validation and conversion techniques.
  • Data management including modification, manipulation, and replication.
  • Database concepts including tables, data types, instances, fields, connection strings, records, and protocols.
  • Relational, hierarchical, and object-oriented database architectures and structure.
  • A good understanding of database architecture, integration issues, third party reporting and data extraction tools.
  • System testing procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of structured programming methodology, data analysis and design skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate to staff across all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to user’s requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Project and time management skills.
  • Availability to provide after-hours support.
  • Broad knowledge of, or exposure to, Superannuation Administration, Share Registry or Financial Services.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to balance competing priorities to deliver timely outcomes.
  • Must have a strong team focus and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Link’s technologies, infrastructure, admin / registry systems, and its peripheral applications.
  • Exposure to business contingency standards and acceptable practices that comply with statutory and audit requirements.
  • A working knowledge of MS office products.
