Director – Compliance Assurance (Global Markets)

Our client is a global bank with a strong presence in Singapore and the APAC region. They are looking for an experienced Compliance Assurance specialist to join their team. The Second Line Assurance function belongs to a global team within the Compliance function and provides independent, effective, and risk-based assurance across non-financial risk-types.

Key responsibilities

  • The candidate is responsible for leading and executing 2nd line Assurance reviews in accordance with the approved 2nd line Assurance plan; to fully engage in the collection of the relevant information, to identify insights within Financial Markets business and contribute to the annual planning to identify core and emerging risks, and lead risk-based assurance reviews.

Role requirements

  • Has over 12 years of audit/banking experience.
  • Has a university degree in business/accounting or equivalent.
  • Min 7+ years of prior compliance review or assurance experience.
  • Able to advise stakeholders on possible risk management responses to identified risks and / or issues from assurance reviews. To support them in the execution of mitigating actions.
  • Has a background in audit, compliance and or risk management and has worked in financial markets related projects before.
  • Previous experience with Financial Markets Subject matter, and securities regulator a plus.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory rules applicable to Financial Markets.
  • Strong analytical skills, and confidence in interrogating data, processes, and interviewing stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
