Key responsibilities
- Evaluates new Corporate Banking financing requests (focus on Large Asian Corporates but may also involve European SMEs), including providing feedback to Relationship Managers and commenting on loan proposals from a credit risk perspective.
- Active credit risk management of an assigned credit portfolio (including analysis of financial statements, preparation of company ratings, assessments of business model, sector outlook etc).
- Credit writing of applications, periodic credit reviews and other credit memos
- Audit of loan documentation from a credit risk perspective
- Works closely with front office colleagues and various other stakeholders involved in the credit process
- Ensuring compliance with the bank’s internal credit-risk-related processes and policies as well as relevant external, regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit-related processes, both from an efficiency perspective as well as to ensure continued regulatory compliance.
- Provide guidance to junior team members in the Asia/Pacific region (the team is based and headed out of Singapore, while team members are also located in Seoul and Shanghai).
Role requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance from a recognised University
- At least 8 – 10 years’ relevant working experience in a corporate credit risk analysis role
- In-depth experience in analyzing corporate credit risks, including very good skills to analyze
financial statements, cash flow forecasts, business models, industry sectors etc.
- Excellent skills in writing concise, risk-balanced credit reports.
- Preferably knowledge of credit-relevant regulatory requirements (MAS)
- Analytical, meticulous and attention to detail.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Pro-active, positive mind-set and a good team player
- Ability to work independently
- Fluent in written and spoken English as well as preferably in Mandarin Chinese.
