Our client is a well-established garment manufacturer with strong global exposure, providing end-to-end solutions across product development, sourcing, and production. To support ongoing international expansion, they are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Director to lead overseas customer growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives, focusing on acquiring new customers and expanding overseas markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international brands, retailers, and sourcing offices
  • Drive the full sales cycle, including prospecting, client presentations, quotation, sampling coordination, and commercial conversion
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the apparel and textile industry
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue growth, margin targets, and KPIs
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product development, fabric, merchandising, costing, and production, to deliver customer-driven solutions
  • Support customer development by aligning product, material, and production capabilities with client requirements
  • Represent the Company in client meetings, trade fairs, and industry events
  • Contribute to strengthening the Company’s market position and expanding its business network

Role requirements

  • Degree holder in Textiles, Fashion, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, merchandising, or sourcing within the apparel / garment manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record in developing new business and securing international clients
  • Strong network with global brands, retailers, or buying offices
  • Good understanding of: Garment manufacturing processes / Product development and sampling / Fabric and materials / Costing and production workflow
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Proactive, result-oriented, and able to work independently while coordinating across teams
  • Fluent in English and Chinese
  • Based in Hong Kong and willing to travel as required
