Key responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Drive performance management through goal setting, regular feedback, and career development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and senior leaders to define and execute an engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the engineering roadmap to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and features.
  • Implement best practices in processes, tools, and technologies to boost team efficiency and productivity.
  • Focus on recruiting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Design and execute training programs, workshops, and mentorship initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and executive leadership to align goals and priorities.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
  • Manage the engineering budget, resources, and timelines to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, security practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead process improvements in code reviews, testing, and deployment practices.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • 10 to 15 years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in managing and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong expertise in the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to make strategic technical decisions and provide clear directions.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and developing engineering talent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building trust and rapport with teams and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in navigating complex challenges and driving collaborative solutions.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a results-driven mindset.
