Fund Accountant (India Portfolio) – Hedge Fund (Hong Kong/ Singapore)

Our client is a premier global quantitative and systematic investment manager. They are seeking a high-caliber Fund Accountant to join their lean, high-performing Finance team. This role will be focusing on the day-to-day fund accounting, NAV oversight, and regulatory tax management of their India-related liquid trading entities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day fund accounting activities, including NAV review, daily/monthly reconciliations, investor allocations, and complex fee calculations within a trading environment.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Indian tax and regulatory filings, managing GST, TDS, corporate tax, and cross-border regulatory requirements for India-related entities.
  • Review management accounts and maintain accurate financial records across multiple legal entities and legal structures.
  • Support the preparation of fund financial statements, coordinate with external auditors, and continuously enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.

Role requirements

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience with direct, hands-on Fund Accounting experience within a Hedge Fund, Asset Manager, or reputable Fund Administration environment.
  • Experience in Liquid Strategies/Markets is a strict requirement. Candidates coming primarily from Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, or Infrastructure funds will NOT be considered.
  • Exposure to Indian accounting standards, tax filings (GST, TDS, Corporate Tax), and regulatory requirements is a must
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or Indian CA equivalent) with good academic record. Big 4 audit background is highly advantageous.
  • Must be already based in Hong Kong Singapore (Please note: Relocation applications directly from India will not be considered at this stage)
  • Advanced Excel skills are mandatory; comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, data-driven quantitative trading environment.
