Key responsibilities
Innovation Strategy & Leadership
- Shape and guide the organisation’s innovation roadmap to support sustainable product and technology growth.
- Identify new scientific and technological opportunities to improve development efficiency.
- Strengthen strategic decision-making by prioritising key initiatives and partnerships.
- Champion modern research practices and capability enhancement across teams.
Research & Development Excellence
- Oversee R&D programmes to ensure scientific rigour, regulatory alignment, and timely delivery.
- Implement efficient processes to optimise laboratory operations and resource utilisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to enhance development outcomes.
- Promote adoption of advanced analytical tools and data-driven decision-making.
People, Culture & Organisational Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to build a high-performing team.
- Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop structured succession planning and technical upskilling programmes.
- Build partnerships with universities and institutions for knowledge exchange and talent sourcing.
Operational Improvement & Governance
- Enhance operational processes to support quality, compliance, and efficiency.
- Review and streamline development workflows to ensure effective project execution.
- Align R&D operations with corporate governance and strategic priorities.
- Support vendor qualification, assessments, and audit readiness.
Stakeholder Collaboration & External Engagement
- Strengthen collaboration with internal teams across commercial, manufacturing, and technical functions.
- Develop and maintain productive partnerships with external research bodies and service providers.
Role requirements
- Doctorate or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, chemistry).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biologics development with strong exposure to R&D leadership.
- Demonstrated success in Pharmaceutical industry
- Strong understanding of research methodologies, development processes, and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to design and implement strategic initiatives that drive scientific advancement.
- Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
