Head of Transition (Agile IT Transition Leaders from BFSI / GCCs / Service Providers)

Our client is a global in-house center supporting operations for its parent organization (a Fortune 500 Company) in areas like asset management, insurance, and retirement solutions. It focuses on providing innovative, high-quality services that align with the company’s strategic objectives. With offices in India and the Philippines, the center plays a key role in driving technological advancement, operational efficiency, and compliance to support the financial well-being of customers worldwide.

 

They are looking for Head of Transitions, which is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing and enhancing the transition methodology within the organization. This role focuses on driving the strategy for work transitions and enabling effective implementation of changes across the organization. It requires close collaboration with various functions, including Enterprise, Business Units, Risk, and Technology, to achieve desired outcomes. Additionally, the role involves developing productized services that add value throughout the transition management lifecycle and reports to the Head of Process Excellence as part of the broader transformation function.

 

NOTE: *** Strong Agile IT transition leadership experience with international GCCs or service providers in the BFSI sector will be preferred. The client is looking for a seasoned process excellence leader with a proven track record of managing similar capabilities in global settings. ***

Key responsibilities

  • Support and develop the transition strategy agenda for the organization, enhancing and executing process transition methodologies and frameworks for broader business applications.
  • Enable the organization by creating self-service toolkits and playbooks to facilitate independent change delivery.
  • Communicate with various departments to understand business needs and refine transition methodologies, ensuring quality checks are in place for alignment and improvement.
  • Leverage hands-on experience as a transition leader and subject matter expert to address business operations and agile IT processes, while adapting industry standards for effective transitions.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the Process Excellence team and broader Transformation initiatives to enhance value.
  • Implement efficient work transition management processes and establish audit frameworks for work movements.
  • Drive efficiency and productivity while tracking the value of transition initiatives for stakeholders.
  • Build governance practices to support service delivery and manage escalations.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the service value proposition to assist enterprise partners effectively.
  • Exhibit leadership and commercial acumen, building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions to enhance client service.
  • Uphold core values and ethical standards in decision-making, team leadership, and coaching for succession planning.
  • Manage global stakeholders across varying levels of maturity, fostering collaboration and influence.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, inclusivity, and continuous improvement for value optimization.
  • Exhibit strong people management skills, leading a team of skilled professionals and fostering an environment of transparency and continuous learning.

Role requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree; advanced studies or certifications in process improvement and excellence.
  • Experience: At least 15 years of professional experience as a Black Belt or Lean practitioner, preferably in the BFSI sector or with international service providers.
  • Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience as a process excellence practitioner or leader, with deep knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, and DMAIC / DMADV methodologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in insurance or claims is highly desirable. Looking for a seasoned leader who has successfully managed similar capabilities in global settings.
