HR Director

Our client is a well-established multinational manufacturing organization with a strong presence across Asia. The company is recognized for its commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth, serving global customers through a diverse and highly skilled workforce. As part of its continued expansion, the organization is seeking an experienced HR Director to drive people strategies, strengthen organizational capabilities, and support business transformation. This role will be based in Johor.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to senior management, aligning HR strategies with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Lead the full spectrum of Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, learning and development, compensation and benefits, payroll governance, and employee relations.
  • Drive organizational development initiatives to enhance workforce capability, productivity, leadership effectiveness, and overall business performance.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture while championing employee engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management and transformation initiatives, ensuring successful adoption of organizational and business changes.
  • Establish and maintain effective HR policies, processes, systems, and governance frameworks while ensuring compliance with employment laws and corporate standards.
  • Develop, coach, and build a high-performing HR team capable of supporting current and future business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and corporate HR stakeholders to ensure alignment of HR practices, policies, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Provide expert guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, employee relations, and people-related business challenges.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including significant exposure in a senior management, regional, or multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, labor law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in talent management, organizational development, succession planning, leadership development, and change management.
  • Experience working within matrix organizations and partnering with global or regional HR teams within multinational setup.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business priorities into effective people strategies and execution plans.
  • High level of cultural awareness and experience working across diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Proactive, analytical, and results-oriented, with the ability to drive organizational change and build high-performing teams.
  • Based in Johor or open to relocating to Johor.
