Our client, a listed global financial services firm, is hiring a Product Governance VP/Director, APAC to join their team in Hong Kong. This is a newly created role and will report to the APAC Head of Product based in Singapore. Key responsibilities

    • Identify and prioritize new product ideas and enhancements for the APAC region.
    • Develop business cases to support fund registration in core APAC markets.
    • Lead product design and structuring in compliance with local regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with APAC regulations and maintain quality control across fund documentation.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.
    • Collaborate with external legal counsels, regulators, and internal stakeholders on governance frameworks.
    • Optimize the APAC product range by aligning with market needs and global priorities.
    • Drive improvements in governance frameworks and product efficiencies.

Role requirements

    • Minimum 10 years of experience in asset management, with a focus on product governance or compliance in APAC.
    • Strong understanding of fund regulations across APAC markets and demonstrated experience with regulators and external legal counsels.
    • Experienced in managing the product lifecycle in a cross-functional environment.
    • CFA qualification is an advantage.
    • In-depth knowledge of investment management products, public/private asset strategies, and fund structures (UCITS/non-UCITS).
    • Strong understanding of APAC regulatory processes, with a focus on SFC
    • Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese/Mandarin
