Key responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Define end-to-end solution architectures for complex business initiatives.
- Create scalable, resilient, and maintainable architectures using modern design principles.
- Produce high-quality architecture artifacts including HLDs, solution designs, sequence diagrams, and deployment architectures.
- Evaluate technology options and provide recommendations based on cost, risk, performance, and strategic alignment.
Microservices & Integration
- Design and govern microservices-based architectures.
- Define API-first solutions using REST, GraphQL, or event-driven patterns.
- Implement integration patterns using Kafka, Pub/Sub, MQ, Event Streams, and service meshes.
- Ensure loose coupling, domain-driven design, and bounded context principles.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Architect solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Design cloud-native applications leveraging containers and Kubernetes.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Ensure scalability, observability, resilience, and operational readiness.
Security & Compliance
- Embed security-by-design principles into all solutions.
- Implement IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, mTLS, encryption, and secrets management.
- Conduct architecture risk assessments and threat modelling.
- Ensure compliance with organisational security, risk, and regulatory standards.
Data Architecture
- Design operational and analytical data architectures.
- Define data models, data governance, lineage, and retention strategies.
- Implement event-driven and real-time data processing architectures.
- Work with relational, NoSQL, and distributed data platforms.
Engineering Excellence
- Champion CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and observability practices.
- Guide engineering teams on architecture standards and best practices.
- Drive reduction of technical debt and improve platform reliability.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
- Present architecture decisions to governance forums and senior leadership.
- Mentor engineers and architects across teams.
Role requirements
- 8-15 years of experience in solution/enterprise architecture roles, with a strong track record of delivering end-to-end architectures for large-scale business initiatives.
- Hands-on expertise in microservices, API-first design, and integration patterns (Kafka, Pub/Sub, MQ, Event Streams, service meshes).
- Strong experience architecting solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with proficiency in containers, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Solid understanding of security-by-design principles, including IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, mTLS, and secrets management.
- Experience designing operational and analytical data architectures across relational, NoSQL, and distributed data platforms.
- Strong grasp of CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and observability practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to governance forums and senior leadership.
